Meet the team
Director and Executive Recruitment
Carmen established Emergent in 2002. Leading the way in quality recruitment, Emergent quickly acquired a reputation for quality client and candidate engagements in contracting and permanent roles—for corporate and professional organisations.
Emergent has come a long way and grown significantly since those early days. A Board and management team oversee the company, yet Carmen loves being actively engaged with clients’ businesses and advising some of New Zealand’s top talent. Carmen’s client and personal relationships include CEOs, Chairs and senior HR Executives across New Zealand’s commercial and NFP sectors.
Drawing on close to 30 years’ experience, Carmen also coaches and develops our team and actively mentors and provides career advice to New Zealand’s future business.
Debbie has 25 years’ experience in the recruitment arena, with the last seven and half at Emergent. Starting her career in 1997 in London in a national agency, quickly progressing through success to launch a new agency in the UK in 2004
Debbie serves on the board as a shareholder and actively works in the day to day running of Emergent, Debbie guides the wider team, including contracting, middle management permanent hires and all of business support. Her ability to look at new and innovative ideas around recruitment strategies for both candidates and clients have been a key success factor of Emergent.

GM Operations & People
Rachael is an experienced operations and HR generalist with over 20 years’ experience across recruitment, health, education and professional services, from start up to corporate.
Believing people are at the core of all business success, Rachael is passionate about developing and motivating high-performing, agile teams, that deliver results.
Coming full circle – having been involved in start-up and first five years operation of Emergent, Rachael re-joins the team in this leadership role to ensure operational and HR excellence within the business, supporting the high levels of service delivery Emergent is known for.
Jane holds a Diploma in Business in Human Resource Management from Auckland University. She started her career working for one of the largest global recruitment companies, specialising in permanent appointments. Recognising her calling early, Jane was ranked number one internationally after just 18 months in the industry.
Throughout her career she has held management positions at branch level and in sales. Jane’s decision to join Emergent in 2004 was driven by her desire to find a company which reflected her business values. Jane’s client service philosophy revolves around knowing her customers’ businesses intimately and striving for operational excellence with a personal, responsive touch.

Anna joins the Emergent team with a strong recruitment background, having recruited both in New Zealand and in the UK.
Starting her career with a Bachelor of Education (in primary school teaching), Anna is passionate about helping others succeed. She has worked in both internal and agency recruitment with over 6 years’ experience. Anna loves playing matchmaker for her client and candidates!
Sukhy Le Prieur
Originally from London, Sukhy has travelled extensively. She has a diverse career background covering many different roles in multiple countries.
Sukhy has been working with Emergent for over five years’ and has a strong business support background. With her background and qualifications Sukhy understands first-hand the requirements of many business support roles, as well as the benefits and challenges of working in them as a permanent or temp employee.

Tony has a background as an HR Generalist for the past 9 years, 5 of which involved internal recruitment, Tony has built his network across professional & financial services as well as the transport & logistics industries. Having been both a client and a candidate, Tony has now come full circle and joined the Emergent team as a Recruitment Consultant.
Tony is passionate about connecting people to the right roles by gaining a deep understanding of the businesses’ needs as well as well as the candidates’ desires.
When Tony isn’t busy connecting with people, he is out connecting with nature. Whether that be embarking on a multi-day hike or a gentle float down the river.
Milly, one of our newest team members, hails from Salem Massachusetts. She has lived in Auckland for the past 3.5 years, recruiting engineering and business support roles for Auckland’s new Rail Project. Prior to this she lived in Sydney, Australia primarily working across the Higher Education sector in casual and student recruitment.
In her spare time Milly devotes her time to sport and supporting her church in all things Bible studies and administration.
Originally from Ireland, Megan comes from a strong recruitment and leadership background across New Zealand and Australia.
She is passionate about building strong relationships, understanding stakeholder needs and helping her candidates secure their dream role.
In her spare time, Megan enjoys catching up with football, hiking, reading as and making memories with her family.
Originally from Manchester, UK, Rachel moved to New Zealand as a graduate in 2018. She joins Emergent after a period of internal recruitment across health, government, financial and professional services. She also has experience in agency recruitment and so understands recruitment from both a client and consultant perspective. Rachel is passionate about people and thrives off building relationships by truly understanding her clients and candidates.
Outside of work Rachel loves to bake, go to concerts and travel. She is also planning her wedding for 2025, so you will often find her at bridal fairs or buried in her pinterest board (watch this space for a name change in Mid 2025).
Samantha has a background in business support, talent acquisition and compliance in both corporate and agency recruitment. She has worked in varied roles within the hospitality and retail sectors before joining the world of recruitment two and a half years ago.
She has a passion connecting with people and understanding what fulfils them in their career paths. As a graduate in Human Resources Management, she has a vision for supporting businesses to succeed while ensuring that employees are valued. Samantha is collaborative and cheerful in nature.
Jess is a Recruitment Consultant here at Emergent with an interest in building strong administration support for businesses. With a can-do attitude, she’s always willing to go the extra mile for both candidates and clients. She has a passion for helping others, creating networks, and building strong relationships. Jess joins team Emergent after a few years in the FMCG industry focused on moving beverages around the world as an Inventory Manager. Along with a fresh perspective on recruitment, Jess is meticulously organized and brings creativity to the team.
Out of the office, you can find Jess with friends, at the gym or spending time with her pug, Frank!
Danielle is the newest member of the team, she joins us after her experience as a Business Development Manager, she has worked in a range of industries including 12 years in aviation working in client relations, sales management, and administration.
She comes from a strong customer service and business support background, working with people from all over the world. Danielle is enthusiastic and driven, she brings to the Emergent family a breath of experience, which has made her well rounded and versatile addition to the team.
Lauryn has a passion for supporting individuals on their career journey. She is a Graduate from the University of Auckland, majoring in Management and Marketing. With a background working in various business support roles, Lauryn is a strong believer that for a business to succeed, prosper and live up to its potential, the right people must be at the heart and forefront.
Lauryn prioritises understanding the needs and wants of candidates and clients to ensure she can do her best in finding the perfect fit for them and their situation.
Outside of the office, Lauryn enjoys music, seeing loved ones, getting competitive in board games, and is a keen snowboarder!
Jasmine joins Emergent after working in the public sector assisting vulnerable New Zealander’s. She soon grew into the learning and development space where she built meaningful connections with people and helped them in their career journey which sparked her interest in pursuing recruitment.
Jasmine has always had a passion for helping people which is why she completed her degree in Psychology and Sociology, she likes understanding people on a personal and societal level.
Outside of the office, she likes weightlifting, spending time with family and friends, and watching a good rom-com.
Farina joins Emergent after a few years working as an advocate and solicitor in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. With a background in the legal field, she brings solid attention to detail, strong organisation skills and an ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Farina also has extensive experience working with clients, providing solutions and building strong relationships which is why a career in recruitment is a perfect match for her.
Out of the office, Farina enjoys hanging out with friends, hiking and watching a gripping TV series.
Tanisha started her journey in the recruitment industry after graduating University with an Exercise Science and Psychology degree. She has worked in customer service, in retail and hospitality, for six years and has a passion for working with people.
In her spare time Tanisha loves to spend quality time with friends, likes to stay active, or occasionally enjoys quiet nights in with her family.
Jazmin embarked on a path in the recruitment industry after earning her postgraduate diploma in Physiology from the University of Auckland. While her academic background is rooted in science, over the past seven years she has honed her skills in the fast-paced worlds of retail and hospitality, cultivating an outgoing and driven personality. With a genuine passion for building strong, meaningful relationships, Jazmin takes pride in helping people achieve their goals and pursue their dream careers. It is this desire to make a positive impact in the lives of others that ignited her interest in the recruitment industry. Outside the office, you can find Jaz in the gym, with family and friends or curled up on the couch reading a good book!
Neesha joined Emergent in 2015 after more than 8 years with one of New Zealand’s iconic international companies. Having previously been a ‘specialist’ accountant in a large corporate Neesha relishes the variety of work in a fast paced company like Emergent – where no two days are the same. Neesha is an all-rounder who keeps the business humming and takes care of the business critical systems such as payroll, accounts and contracts, invoicing and general administration. After-hours she enjoys a quieter lifestyle with her wonderful family.
Originally from South Africa, Lezanne has been calling New Zealand home since 2016 and recently joined the Emergent finance team.
Lezanne brings a wealth of expertise in finance with over 7 years of experience working in financial and administration management roles for both Global Corporates as well as SME’s.
She has always had a natural feel for numbers and very strong attention to detail, which is an absolute must for anything finance.
With her tertiary qualification in Bcom Industrial Psychology and Labour Relations, Lezanne understands firsthand the importance of relationships and the human resource function in any business, allowing her to make sure the financial side integrates well with the other aspects and that our clients and candidates have a positive experience from onboarding to payroll and billing.
In her spare time Lezanne devotes her time to her family and her piano with her two biggest passions in life being animals and music.
